Cork Branch Events

BirdWatch Ireland Cork Branch organises outings and other events for members and non-members in Cork city and the eastern side of county Cork on a regular basis. The branch also as encourages members and non-members to become involved in local bird surveys and conservation work. Our branch neighbour West Cork Branch covers activities in the western half of the county. We also feature contact details, events and a link to their website here for anyone interested in BirdWatch Ireland events in the western side of the county. Further details of upcoming events are given below.

Feb 8th . Cork branch ‘ Know Your Nature ‘ primate schools quiz. Corrin Event Centre, Fermoy at 8.00pm.


Feb 10th. Outing to Kilcolman wildfowl reserve, Doneraile. Meet at Doneraile Park at 10.00 am for short drive to Kilcolman.


March 3rd. World Wildlife Day Cork Birdathon in conjunction with SECAD at Harper’s Island. See SECAD website for times.


March 13th ‘ The secret life of Crows ‘ a talk by Ricky Whelan of BWI. Venue Corrin Event Centre Fermoy at 8.00pm.


April 9th at 8.00pm.
White tailed Sea Eagle slide show presentation by Rober Foyle. SMA Parish Hall, Wilton, Cork.

One-off outings (e.g. for rare birds) may take place. See Facebook page or branch email for details.

woodland stroll & possibly a visit to Garrettstown Marsh afterwards. Bring suitable clothing & a picnic.
