One county record up to the end of 2013.

One at Ringaskiddy on the 15th February 2009.

Distribtuion: A widespread summer visitor to southern Europe, which
accounts for less than a quarter of its global breeding range.

Rare vagrant.

1986 Cape Clear Island, 30th October.
1969 Cape Clear Island, dead about five days, 13th October.
1825 Near Youghal, killed, autumn, now at University College, Cork. R. Ball, Rennie's Field Naturalist 1: 6-7. This is the first; Irish Record.

Distribution: Breeds from southern Canada to Mexico. Winter in Central America and as far south as northern Argentina. This bird is a rare vagrant to western Europe.
