1985 Galley Head, 12th to 17th October. This was the first Irish and Western Palearctic Record.

42 county records, all single birds, up to the end of 2020.
The first county record was one on the 6th/7th October 1967 on Cape Clear Island.
Birds have been seen at the following locations: Baltimore, Cape Clear Island (most records), Crookhaven, Dursey Island, Firkeel, Inch Bay, Knockadoon Head, Mizen Head, Toe Head.
Apart from one bird remaining into November all were seen in September and October. 50% stayed for more than a day.
